CHOCOLATE HILLS



The chocolate hills are unusual geological formations in Bohol,Philippines.

It is composed of around 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills all about the same size.

Mostly the hills are having height between 30 to 50 meters.

Such hills are spread over an area of more than 50 sq km. the hills are covered in green grassthat turns brown during the dry season,giving them the name “Chocolate Hills”.

Up to this day,even geologists have not reached to the conclusion that how they were formed.

The most commonly accepted theory is that they are the weathered formation of a kind of marine limestone on top of a impermeable layer of clay.
